Here we are with Santa
Joan Invited me to go with her and Bill to their Ward's Christmas party. The theme was "The Polar Express". Everyone was invited to wear their pajamas, which Joan & I did! joan is holding our Polar Express ticket.

When we were all out to Maryland in October, we were also able to visit Lynn in West Virginia. Lynn bought a cake for the sisters to share! That's Julie on the left . Lynn in the middle holding the Joan on the right. (I'm taking the picture. )

This photo of SLC was taken by my friend and fellow missionary Dorothy Brown. When she took the picture, she was just trying to capture the rainbow, and was surprized by the exceptional clarity and beauty of the city as well. The picture was taken from the balcony of her apartment on West Temple.

This is a picture I took last winter of the McCune mansion. (Thanks Arlan for 'photo shopping' it!) Now it is open for tours and is available to rent for receptions, etc. It is not too far from Temple Square.

As I was leaving the parking garage, this horse-drawn carriage passed right in front of me. I wish I got a better picture! There are a lot of carriages like this downtown right now, more than usual. During the summer carriages go down the street I live on every evening. The building on the right is the new Church History Museum. There is a good picture of the museum in the Oct 09 Ensign on pages 38-39. I drive by it every day.

These are some photos of Christmas decor in the plaza between the temple and the JSMB.

Many of the trees are lit up from the base of the trunk to the tips of branches.

This is a picture of one side of the mezzanine where the choirs stand when performing. The Lobby is below, over the railing on the left.

This is a picture of the tree in the main lobby of the JSMB. During the month of December there are always a lot people in the lobby. Choirs of young people are scheduled to sing from the Mezzanine balcony throughout the day. Other musical events are scheduled daily from noon till evening. Tonight I went to a program of "Christmas Classics" put on by the Richards Family Musicians. The family plays piano, violin, viola, flute, and harp. It was an amazing production, very professional.

Christmas Season In SLC

This beautiful Christmas tree is one of many to be seen around Temple Square this year during the Christmas season. This particular tree is in the room where we hold Relief Society meeting in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
